“Can you coach me to do a triathlon?”
“Can you help me lose weight?”
“Can you help me improve my fitness?”
“I need someone to give me kick arse accountability – you can do that for me!”
These are some of the most common questions my regular enquiries feature.
And the answer, in part, to all of them is yes. But I’m not a triathlon coach, I’m not a weight loss coach, I’m not a fitness coach and I’m not some sort of weird domineering coach you hire to shout at you to get your kicks…
I am Stevie Potter, performance coach.

What is performance coaching?
You know when it feels like life is crushing you, when you’re overwhelmed, or perhaps when you want to get to the next level of “life” (I like to gamify everything – definitely feels like life is just one long hilarious game of Crash Bandicoot sometimes, right?!)…well that’s where I come in!

I have a lot of roles in people’s busy lives to help them manage overwhelm and their own individual barriers to success in their fields.
- Goal-setting: One of the key benefits of performance coaching is the ability to set and achieve specific goals. A performance coach can work with you to identify your strengths and weaknesses, and help you set realistic and achievable goals. By setting clear goals, you will have a roadmap for success, and a coach can help keep you accountable to achieving those goals.
- Mental toughness: Success in any walk of life is not just about specific abilities, but also mental toughness. A performance coach can help you develop the mental resilience needed to push through challenges and setbacks. Through exercises such as visualization, goal-setting, and mindfulness training, a coach can help you build mental toughness and stay focused on your goals.
- Building life skills: Performance coaching can help individuals build new skills or enhance existing ones. This may involve learning new techniques, improving communication skills, or developing a growth mindset.
- Motivation: A performance coach can provide encouragement, support, and feedback to help keep you motivated. They can also help you identify your “why” – your underlying motivation for wanting to succeed – which can provide the drive needed to push through challenges and setbacks.
- Accountability: Finally, a performance coach can help you stay accountable to your goals. By regularly checking in with you, providing feedback and support, and helping you track your progress, a coach can ensure that you are making consistent progress towards your goals.
What is unique about Performance Coaching at the Wonder Clinic?
When it comes to any kind of coaching, it is all too common for people to look at things one dimensionally: The fitness coach that ignores the importance of nutrition, the sports coach that ignores the impact of life on training, the performance coach who focuses on the mind without thinking about the important of the physical self.
That’s what’s unique about working with me. I don’t see performance coaching as an entirely mental pursuit – though that is the biggest part of it. I believe, that whatever your goals are, the “holy grail” when it comes to unlocking fulfilment and potential, is acknowledging a whole person. Those who embrace the complex interlocking nature of the mind and and body are those who will access WAY more of their full potential than those who tunnel down one rabbit hole and miss the bigger picture.
The Paladin Principles

The Paladin Principles are the recipe for success. And they don’t just apply to business, or sport, they apply to any endeavour. Because in order to succeed, you need to be in the best possible mental and physical state, and each of those will feed into the other.
When I work with my clients, we focus on these five areas and work out what’s going to help you the most and what a performance coaching plan will look like for you as an individual. Every single client I work with, whether it’s on a 1-2-1 or a group programme, will have a different plan laid out in front of them. Literally no two or EVER the same. No cookie cutter plans here. Because even though you might identify with similar thoughts, feelings and problems – as most of my clients do – the way forward is going to look different for every person.
