What does working with a nutrition and performance coach actually look like??

A lot of people aren’t sure about what working with a nutrition and performance coach like me actually looks like. What do we do? How does it work? More importantly, what will it achieve?? I am nutrition and performance coach helping busy people find strategies to improve their productivity, energy levels, calmness and confidence. When you’re a busy person, you need someone who “gets it” and that’s why so many other nutrition coaches don’t specialise in this area – it’s hard and they haven’t lived it! I have, and I’m here to help you do the same to the best of your ability.

Even though I don’t think I’m that scary at all, in case you ARE too scared to ask, this is what it typically looks like to sign up as a client with me.

And if you decide the transformation from overwhelmed mess to cool, calm confident you is something you’d like to try, then give me a buzz! I don’t bite and your first consultation with me is 100% free! Book it in here…

Well, this is what the coach looks like…
1. Initial Assessment

In the words of Cilla Black, “What’s your name and where d’ya come from?!” As with any normal human conversation, the first step is getting to know eachother, not just as a coach and client, but as two human beings. It’s important I know what kind of approach you have to life, what makes you tick, what your values are, what your lifestyle patterns and routines are and more importantly, what the major challenges are for you right now. We won’t just talk about what your nutrition struggles are, but what other factors might be emphasising those barriers too – work, personal life, mindset and lifestyle habits. From all of that information, we can then agree on what a coaching journey with me might look like for you and more importantly, what success would look like for you.

2. Personalised Nutrition Guidance

Once we’ve established what the goals and the barriers are, it’s time to start developing your nutrition strategy. Initially, this may simply be me observing and discussing with you the choices that you make over a period of a few weeks so we can start to identify patterns you maybe haven’t noticed before. I can then help you to implement changes that slowly push you toward where you want to be – increased energy, better performance and less overwhelm. Your plan will focus on breaking down your specific barriers and moving toward your specific goal, whatever that might be; it could be losing body fat, improving energy levels or something else. Whatever it is, the aim of your plan will be to maximise the positive habits and minimise the negative ones.

3. Lifestyle Coaching

The reason so many people fail when it comes to implementing healthy eating strategies is because they neglect the supporting framework. For me, that’s the Paladin Principles, the five foundations we all need to focus on in order to achieve ANYTHING. Alongside your nutrition specific advice and strategy, we’ll spend a lot of time working on the more holistic things that we can do to create a rock solid foundation to help you achieve more in work and life in general.

The 5 Paladin Principles

As part of this lifestyle coaching element, we will begin to identify unhealthy behaviours that might have gone unnoticed by you, but could be subtly drawing you away from your goals. We can then work on slowly minimising these and introducing healthier more helpful ones in their place. Alongside coaching strategies, I will also provide accountability to help boost your ability to make meaningful change and achieve your goals.

4. Progress Tracking

Tracking your progress will look different for everyone. For some, it could be simple weight and measurement metrics but for most, it is more abstract than that. Each time we check in, we will discuss where we are now, where we’ve been the past few weeks and where we are moving in the future. This will help to keep you motivated by your progress and focused in the right direction and each call will focus on assisted reflection as well as joint planning on how we move forward on your journey from that plotted point. Each call will be followed up by an action list for you to work through in time for your next check-in so you’re never short of focus!

5. Support and Communication

As a coach, I believe the cornerstone in achieving the transformations in confidence and performance that I do, is the contact I have with my clients. Whether you’re official calls are weekly or fortnightly, having access to me for ad hoc messaging means there is always an opportunity for support, accountability or perhaps a little harsh honesty when you need it!

“Just do it!”

Ultimately, each individual journey with me looks different to the next, but the important thing is this:

Whoever you are, when you arrive at my virtual doorstep feeling overwhelmed, I will help you change that. If that’s the honest, effective transformation you’re looking for, then come have a chat with me…
